Tawny Hixson holds a Master’s degree in Industrial Design from Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, NY, and has also studied furniture design at the Royal Academy in Copenhagen, Denmark. After many years on the East Coast, she returned to her roots in the Pacific Northwest and began applying her design expertise at Spiral Studios in Bellingham, WA.

Shifting from product design to homes and structures was a natural evolution, combining a love for beauty with the opportunity to create meaningful, functional spaces. With a strong foundation in sustainability, materials selection and sourcing, Tawny brings thoughtful solutions that have a lasting impact on the spaces and people around her.

Tawny cares deeply about the people she works with; clients, architects, contractors, and the vast network that makes transformative design possible. She is inspired by the coming together of textures, materials, and the blending of old with new. She finds joy in seeing a space transformed and a client’s vision brought to life.
